Yes, you’ve done it: your plants have been harvested – now it’s time to carefully dry the valuable buds. This step is crucial for the aroma, taste and quality. If you get impatient or make mistakes here, you risk mold or a scratchy end product. So let’s go through step by step how to dry your flowers properly.

🌿 Rough defoliation

• First remove all the large leaves from the plant.
• Important: Leave the small leaves on the flowers! They only come off later when trimming.
• The aim is to expose the shoots and create space for drying.

👕 Hanging up the shoots

• Grab a few clothes hangers and hang them on the ceiling of your tent.
• Cut the shoots so that you can easily hang them on the hanger.
• Leave enough space between the shoots, you don’t want them to touch each other.
• Afterwards: Take out the pots and clean the floor – hygiene is still important.

🌬️ Ventilation in drying mode

• Set your growMACHINE to drying mode.
  • Exhaust air = fresh air + odor filtering.
  • Recirculated air = uniform climate.
• Important: The clip fan must not blow directly onto the flowers – otherwise they will dry too quickly and lose their aroma.

🌡️ The right climate

During the drying process, climate parameters matter more than ever before:

• Temperature: 18-22 °C
• Humidity: 55-60 %
• Why? Above 25 °C, the sensitive terpenes that provide flavor and fragrance evaporate.

🧐 Control & duration

• Check daily for mold! Even small spores can ruin the entire harvest.
• After about 7-10 days, do the stem test:
  • If the stem can be bent = not ready yet.
  • If it breaks with a clear “crack” = the flowers are dried through.

From this moment on, your buds are ready for the next step: trimming and curing.
